Strength and reliability in any condition
The HD9 tractor stands out for the strength and reliability it guarantees in off-road conditions.
It is used particularly for oversize loads (trailers, half-trailers or dual-use) in the oil and extraction sectors, thanks its ability to adapt to difficult and adverse weather and terrain conditions, from the heat of the African deserts to the ice of Alaska.
Available in a 2 or 3-axle and tridem version, it offers a combined total weight above 200 tons.

PRODUCTIVITY

The HD9 tractor boasts features that make it a champion of productivity: the high value of the combined total mass enables the use of trailers with high capacities reducing the time of the working cycle.
Its robustness ensures it is reliable. The simplicity of its mechanical and electronic structure limits maintenance time and costs.

Loads up to 10 tons thanks to reinforced front drive axles for the most arduous off-road use (routes with slopes or heavy loads concentrated on the front of the vehicle).

FRAME

820 mm wide, unique heavy duty chassis

Two side members in high resistance special steel with a tensile strength of 530 Mpa with large sections to secure easy equipment mounting and most importantly a high level of torsional stiffness (up to 202 kNm) and high stability in the most extreme situations.

POWER RING

To increase the robustness and rigidity of the entire structure of the chassis, Astra has patented the power ring: a closed ring structure of the rear suspension, made up of cast iron carriage shoulders and a lower cross member, which improves the redistribution of forces on the tandem.
This enables a load of up to 40 tons on the tandem.

Hydraulic retarders integrated in the gearbox are ideal during periods of continuous and constant slowing down and during heavy load conditions to protect the service brakes from wear.

TYRES

Availability of different types of tyres and treads, different sizes adapted to any type of mission, from well-trodden, to rocky, to unstable terrain that requires resilience.

CAB

The inside of the cab is specifically designed and optimised to guarantee excellent ergonomics and comfort, making driving relaxing whilst ensuring high functionality. The instrument panel surrounds the driver and makes controls easy and safe to use even in the most difficult and challenging working conditions.

Tilt of up to 60° for practical access to maintenance areas

Optimal visibility thanks to the windows positioned on the lower part of the doors.

Availability of sleeper cab with single or double bunk, high roof cab for better space distribution and extendable rotating beacons.

Tractors for double towing carried out with 2 identical engines     connected by a tow bar with electro-pneumatic connections.
